Shout out to Browntown

Posted in Announcement with tags , , on September 30, 2010 by Luke Farrugia

This is just a quick shout-out to longtime friend, fellow SPLian, brother in Christ, tech and guitars, Chris Brown, I have often suspected he has a brain and the ability to share information in a blog-like setting but only recently has he moved that assumption from hypothesis to fact.

As anyone who runs a blog will know, traffic is hard to come by at first (at last too!) so don’t be a stranger, go visit the lad over at browntown.com.au have a look and if it takes your fancy, subscribe or something like that.

For future reference I have added the link to my blogroll there on the right.

Happy Blogging Chris

Ps: Consider this an official invite if you would like to guest-post on my blog at some arbitrary time in the future.

I know this is not in line with the theme of my blog… but I thought I would share it anyway.

Some time ago I was linked to an internode blog article, for those of you who are not familiar with internode, they are an ISP (internet service provider) and they happen to by my provider of choice, I have recommended many people go to them for good service, reasonable prices etc… but I digress… The article I speak of is regarding nodepony… it is a rather tongue in cheek piece of editorial prowess by Simon Hackett (commander in chief over there at Internode) containing comments like this… Continue reading

Thoughts on Worship

Posted in gospel with tags , , , , on September 19, 2010 by Luke Farrugia

I am currently constructing a sermon on worship, it is a word often used and seldom considered. I have been chasing all kinds of verses today and praise the Lord patterns are emerging, even while writing this short post I have had to run off to add to my notes as the Holy Spirit brings things to my mind.

Whilst doing this, I was wondering what you think, if worship is such a big deal (it is what the Great Controversy is all about) what is it? how would you define it? how should we do it? what is an act of worship?

Thoughts?

God Teaches Through Nature

Posted in gospel, Life with tags , , , , , , , , , , on September 13, 2010 by Luke Farrugia

“In the day you will make your plant to grow, And in the morning you will make your seed to flourish.” Isaiah 17:11

Recently I have been through somewhat of a spiritual “Wilderness Experience” which, though uncomfortable, I praise God for, as I know that he calls his people to the wilderness to protect or connect with them, (ie: Elijah by the brook Cherith, The nation of Israel after their captivity in Egypt, John the baptist, Jesus himself, the Woman of Revelation 12 and many other Biblical examples) amidst this, as I was finding it difficult to focus on my Bible I was encouraged by my Mum to get outside and look at God’s general revelation (Nature) I was amazed and encouraged by what I found.

I wandered out into the yard, and decided to inspect a tree… I know it sounds less than exciting, but stick with me here, I prayed and decided to look for christian principles in this corner of creation. Continue reading
