Leadership & Evangelism Workshop 1/3

Originally I signed up for the Leadership workshop, however, God wanted me to do the evangelism workshop so much, that he had the AYC organizers merge the two workshops, this means that rather than benefiting from the experience of the gifted leader Neale Schofield alone, I was also able to be blessed by the vast knowledge of the evangelist, Pr Gary Webster.

In the first session, we dealt with the nature of leadership itself.

Leadership is… Continue reading

As you have possibly guessed by my new header image, I do indeed enjoy some six-string-therapy, this year it is my plan to buy a serious guitar, to this end, I have been playing every guitar which passes by, trying to figure out what I want.

Last week I finally had the chance to go into my local music shop and take their guitars for a test run, I simply thought I would share my experience with you. Continue reading

The Cessation of Life

Posted in gospel, Life, Travel with tags , , , , , , on March 27, 2010 by Luke Farrugia

In recent weeks I have discussed this topic with a few people, so I figured, why not share my thoughts with the world.

Death is a peculiar thing, it is common as birth, it is going on around us all the time, yet we never seem to get accustomed to it, it totally shocks each one of us when it knocks on our door.

Whilst flying to and from NSW I had a revelation on the plane, Continue reading

Rather than sermon notes, this post is in regard to door knocking. On the Saturday afternoon we all trod the pavement for practical evangelism. Sydney is indeed a tough place to do this, let me tell you what happened… Continue reading

Next year (2011) Pr Gary Webster will be Coming to Run an evangelistic campaign right here, so in order to prepare and be sure the ground is plowed, he is here this weekend getting the Church family ready for the upcoming evangelism.

Last night was the beginning of this endeavor, Continue reading

Peter Gregory – Morning Devotions 1

Peter Gregory (IONA missions) Had morning Devotions each day, and whilst they were all powerful messages, I was struck by the simplicity and impact of this one.

“The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.” [Gen2:8]

For us to have the proper understanding of this passage we must understand two things… Continue reading

Saint Patrick?

Posted in Events, Sabbath with tags , , , , , , , , , on March 18, 2010 by Luke Farrugia

I know I am a day late, but please bear with this interruption to the AYC notes, yesterday was indeed St. Patrick’s day, the celebrated patron saint of Ireland, who supposedly charmed all the snakes off the island.

It may interest you to know, he was not a Papal Romanist, Nor was he Irish, his name wasn’t even Patrick Continue reading

Matt Parra – Almost too great for the Greatest

This Message was a simple one, but it was indeed a challenging one.

The central figure of this message was John the baptist, the second Elijah, the one that prepared the way for Jesus and was eventually beheaded for his faith.

speaking of him in Matt 11 Jesus said: Continue reading

The Covenant of Bethel

Well, on Sabbath I preached my second sermon, I have not tortured myself by watching the video as yet, so I can’t say for sure how it went, but what I can say is this, although (praise God) I did not suffer nerves once the preaching was underway, I think I bit off perhaps a little more than I could chew with this passage of scripture, distilling it to a usable level for the listeners was harder than I thought.

I believe it is God’s Plan for me to grow this particular skill, therefore I think this experience was necessary, as we often learn more from our mistakes than we do from out victories, aside from that point I still felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and people were moved by it, proving that the Lord does not need perfect instruments to convey his message.

Soon I will attempt to get the video online for you to see, until then I have posted my notes below for you, though I would still encourage you to watch the video as not all the points I made were in the notes.
